Dr. Tara Beran PT, DPT, RYT

Tara brings years of clinical experience helping both men and women recover from pelvic floor dysfunction. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University and has dedicated her career to improving the lives of patients struggling with pelvic, hip, and low back conditions. Tara understands that pelvic health issues affect more than just the body. They often create emotional stress, embarrassment, and frustration for patients. Her compassionate approach comes from both her professional training and her personal experience with pelvic floor dysfunction.

Growing up in a family of healthcare professionals specializing in women’s health, obstetrics, and gynecology, Tara developed an early interest in pelvic and reproductive health. This background inspired her to focus her career on improving recovery options for individuals dealing with pelvic floor injuries, chronic pelvic pain, and musculoskeletal dysfunction.

Tara is passionate about transforming how pelvic floor conditions are treated. She focuses on evidence-based rehabilitation, patient education, and functional movement training that helps patients return to everyday life and physical activity safely. Her treatment philosophy emphasizes restoring proper coordination between the diaphragm, pelvic floor muscles, and core stabilizers, which are essential for posture, breathing, spinal stability, and bladder control.

Through individualized treatment plans, Tara helps patients rebuild strength, mobility, and neuromuscular control. Her programs often include return-to-fitness strategies designed to safely reintegrate exercise, sports, and daily movement patterns.

Tara is also a registered yoga therapist, which allows her to integrate breath work, mobility training, and body awareness into rehabilitation programs. She is trained in a wide range of advanced therapeutic techniques, including:

  • Myofascial release therapy

  • Intramuscular dry needling

  • Therapeutic cupping

  • Advanced manual therapy

  • Visceral mobilization

  • Corrective therapeutic exercise

These specialized methods help reduce pain, improve tissue mobility, and restore normal muscle function within the pelvic and abdominal region.

Tara specializes in treating complex pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic pain caused by trauma, infection, post-surgical complications, and dyspareunia (painful intercourse). She also treats bladder and urinary conditions such as stress urinary incontinence, urge incontinence, and interstitial cystitis, which can significantly impact daily life and confidence.

Her clinical expertise extends to men’s pelvic health as well. Tara works with men experiencing chronic prostatitis, pelvic pain syndrome, and post-prostatectomy dysfunction, helping restore bladder control, sexual function, and pelvic muscle strength following surgery or chronic inflammation.

By combining advanced physical therapy techniques with compassionate care, Tara helps patients regain control over their bodies and return to activities they enjoy.

Outside of her clinical practice, Tara enjoys spending quality time with her family and staying active outdoors. She frequently participates in hiking, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and fitness training, activities that reflect her belief in maintaining a strong and healthy lifestyle.

Dedicated to Supporting You

“I’m excited to meet you and embark on this healing journey together.”

“Hello, I’m Tara, an experienced pelvic physical therapist and Desert Physical Therapy and Pelvic Health owner. In the past, I found myself in a situation much like yours—scared and worried about pelvic pain. Let’s be honest, I was downright freaked out. This happened just weeks before embarking on my career as a new pelvic physical therapist. I experienced pelvic pain, bladder discomfort, and a burning sensation throughout the pelvis. It was a challenging time, but it taught me a great deal.

While I used to wish I never had to endure that pain, it ultimately changed my life in profound ways. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without that experience. I had my unique journey through pelvic pain, which may differ from yours, but with all the emotions, worry, pain, and feelings involved, I believe I can genuinely be there for you.”

Empowering You to Reclaim Your Body

“If you’ve ever Googled your symptoms at 2 am feeling alone and confused, consider this your sign that you found the right place — and the right person.”

Dr. Cassidy Volpone, PT, DPT, RYT

Cassidy’s path to pelvic health physical therapy is as personal as it is purposeful. Rooted in Las Vegas, she spent years as a full-time Pilates, barre, and yoga instructor — a career that ignited a deep fascination with how the body moves, heals, and thrives. That passion drove her to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, where she transformed hands-on movement expertise into clinical excellence.

Her dedication to pelvic health goes beyond professional — it’s personal. Cassidy has navigated chronic pelvic pain herself, giving her a rare, firsthand understanding of the emotional and physical weight her patients carry. That lived experience shapes everything about the care she provides: compassionate, patient-centered, and never rushed.

Cassidy specializes in treating women facing some of the most complex and underserved conditions in women’s health, including chronic pelvic pain (neuralgias, endometriosis, PCOS, interstitial cystitis, vulvar pain, and more), dyspareunia, urinary and bowel incontinence, back pain, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Drawing on both evidence-based practice and a whole-body philosophy, she combines myofascial release, dry needling, cupping, IASTM, targeted exercise prescription, and in-depth patient education to help women not just feel better — but truly understand and trust their bodies again.

Cassidy believes that knowledge is power. She makes it a priority to educate every patient about their condition, their anatomy, and their options — because an informed woman is an empowered one.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Cassidy on the Pilates reformer or yoga mat, lost in a good book, or enjoying quiet moments at home with her husband and their two cats.

Dr. Lauren Hill, PT, DPT, WCS, SC, RYT

Lauren is many things: an Arizona native, a lifelong yogi, a board-certified pelvic health specialist, and a sex counseling certified therapist with years of clinical experience helping both men and women. Her journey started in Dallas, TX, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2010 — and she’s been building on that foundation ever since.

After beginning her career working with neurological patients, Lauren discovered her true calling in pelvic health. By 2014, she was part of a sought-after interdisciplinary team treating complex pelvic pain conditions including pudendal neuralgia, interstitial cystitis, and endometriosis. Recognizing a critical gap in her community, she went on to build and launch a pelvic health outpatient rehab program within a large hospital system — because when there aren’t enough pelvic PTs, sometimes you just have to create the solution yourself.

In 2018, Lauren earned her board certification in pelvic health through the American Physical Therapy Association. She has co-authored peer-reviewed research articles and academic book chapters in the pelvic health space, bringing a depth of clinical knowledge that is both evidence-based and deeply human.

As a lifelong yogi, Lauren weaves yoga therapy seamlessly into her treatment sessions. She holds a 200-hour yoga teacher certification, a prenatal yoga certification, and specialized training in yoga for pelvic health — a unique combination that allows her to meet patients in their bodies in a way that feels intuitive, grounding, and empowering.

Lauren’s approach to care extends into territory many practitioners shy away from: sexual health. She believes that pelvic health and sexual health are inseparable parts of whole-person wellness. Pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and bowel and bladder issues frequently intersect with sexual dysfunction — and those conversations deserve a safe, informed, judgment-free space. Lauren completed her sex counseling certification through the University of Michigan and is a certified member of AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists). Her sex counseling work addresses the full spectrum of intimacy — from pain with intercourse and low libido to desire discrepancy, communication, and the physical changes that come with postpartum recovery, menopause, and every stage in between.

Her north star is simple but profound: help her patients return not just to function, but to joy — to the hikes, the workouts, the connection, and the intimacy that make life rich and meaningful.

When Lauren isn’t in the clinic, she’s hiking, doing yoga, breaking a sweat, or savoring time with her partner and daughter.

Helping You Return to a Life — That Brings Joy

“I went from treating neurons to talking about orgasms and pelvic floors — and honestly, it all connects back to the same thing: helping people fully inhabit their bodies and their lives.”

Traditional Rehabilitation Integrated with Movement-Based Therapies

Gina emphasizes body awareness, coordination, and control, helping patients move with greater ease and confidence.

Dr. Gina Huang, PT, DPT

Hsiang Wen “Gina” Huang is a pelvic health physical therapist with a passion for helping individuals reconnect with their bodies through movement and awareness.

She began her journey in physical therapy in Taiwan, where she completed her initial training before moving to the United States to pursue her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Loma Linda University. This cross-cultural training has shaped her perspective on care, blending evidence-based practice with a more holistic, body-centered approach.

She developed a deep interest in pelvic floor therapy early in her career. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals navigating pelvic pain, recognizing how closely physical symptoms are connected to daily function, emotional well-being, and quality of life. She also has a clinical interest in supporting prenatal and postpartum populations and enjoys guiding individuals through the transitions of pregnancy and recovery with care, understanding, and support.

Her treatment approach integrates traditional pelvic floor rehabilitation with movement-based therapies. As a certified Gyrotonic instructor, she emphasizes body awareness, coordination, and control, helping patients move with greater ease and confidence. Through guided, three-dimensional movement, breathwork, and rhythm, she supports individuals in developing a deeper connection to their bodies and improving overall movement efficiency. She enjoys incorporating Gyrotonic principles into her sessions to complement pelvic floor rehabilitation, allowing for a more integrated, whole-body approach to care.

She also incorporates visceral manipulation into her care, particularly when working with individuals experiencing conditions such as endometriosis and digestive dysfunction. By addressing the mobility and function of internal organs, she supports deeper, more lasting changes beyond symptom relief—helping patients restore balance and feel more connected to their bodies.

Her goal is to create a supportive and empowering space where patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their healing process.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys maintaining her own Gyrotonic practice and exploring new coffee shops.
